Lapalaka was founded in 1989 by the current Managing Director, Herman Pieterse, following his role as project manager at the Stellenbosch Hotel and conductor of building contract negotiations for the Fancourt Hotel in George. With the intention of creating affordable, high-quality housing solutions, Lapalaka was established. The development of 2500 low income units in townships across Gauteng formed the building blocks of a property development company centred around the creation and restoration of real estate projects that add value to the communities they inhabit. The business has since grown into various property sectors from purpose built student accommodation to mixed use commercial and high income residential establishments. Built on a firm foundation of an uncompromised standard of quality, Lapalaka is geared for growth as we welcome promising new opportunities and always look at new ways of unlocking land value.
